Finding the road back: SA’s GDP expanded 1.9% in Q1:2022, although experts warn this excludes the latest rounds of load shedding and KZN floods. The last time the country had a GDP of 2% for the year was about a decade ago. Should SA be able to raise economic growth to above 3% per annum for a sustained period, it will become possible to address the country’s growing socio-economic needs.
