Sibanye: Restructuring and closures could affect over 4,000 jobs
Sibanye’s planned restructuring, which could see it close to four loss-making platinum group metal shafts in SA, may result in the loss of 4,095 jobs. Last month, its CEO told Reuters that job cuts had become inevitable in the platinum mining sector due to the decline in the prices of the precious metals. The affected workers include 3,500 permanent staff and 595 contractors.
