New Eskom board is no quick fix for a turnaround
For the first time since 2018, all 13 vacancies on the Eskom board have been filled – a step in the right direction for its turnaround. The new appointments include engineers and CAs in a roundup of respected professionals. But the board on its own cannot keep the lights burning. Time will tell whether the government will give it the freedom to do what it needs to do — and put in place the policy measures needed to enable Eskom to do better.
